Effective date: August 7, 2026
Friday Folder ("we", "our", or "us") turns school notices into a parent's task list. This policy explains what we collect and how it is used.
Account: your email address and a password (stored only as a secure hash by our infrastructure provider, Supabase).
Family setup you enter: your family name, and your children's first names, grades, and teacher names, plus any notes you choose to add. You provide this so notices can be matched to the right child.
School notices you send us: emails forwarded or delivered to your private family address, photos you take of paper notices, and content you share into the app. We keep the originals so you can always see exactly where a task came from.
Anonymous usage data: counts of in-app events (for example, that a screen was opened) with the app version. No advertising identifiers, no tracking across apps or websites, no data brokers.
Notice text is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to extract tasks, dates, and events. Content is processed solely to provide the service and is not used to train AI models. Matching a task to a specific child is done by our own deterministic rules, not by the AI.
Data is stored with Supabase (database and file storage, hosted in the United States). Push notifications are delivered by Apple. Inbound email is received via Postmark. Each provider processes data only to provide its service to us.
Settings → Delete account permanently removes your account, family, children, every notice and task, and all stored originals, immediately. Your forwarding address stops working the moment the account is deleted.
Subscriptions are billed through Apple. We never see your payment details.
If this policy changes materially, we will note it here with a new effective date.
